SWEDEN TOUR REPORTIn June 2009, we took two squads of Under 13 players on tour to Sweden to compete in the Nils Liedhold Cup. One squad was entered into the U13 age group and the other squad pushed into an U14 competition. Both squads behaved very well off the pitch and performed well on it. The boys faced big, strong, organiSed teams and it was a real challenge in every game. The squad that entered the Under 14 competition found they were in a really tough tournament and performed above themselves to reach the semi finals. The squad entered into the Under 13 competition won the competition with Jordan Kinoshi picking up player of the tournament and the Golden Boot award. The tour was a massive success, with all the boys taking responsibility of themselves off the pitch and adding to the good name of Luton Town FC.Below is a letter written by Freedy Moberg who looked after us in Sweden and was always there to help when he could, I think is shows what a good impression the boys made.To the parents of the boys from Luton Town FCMy name is Freddy Moberg and I was responsible for the accommodations during Niels Liedholm Cup 2009 in which your son participated. I write this letter to inform you of your son and the other boys from Luton Towns behavior during their stay in Valdemarsvik. I have worked with boys and girls in the age of 14-16 for almost 20 years and I have very seldom seen a big group as your boys behaving that well! They were all very polite, helpful and nice. With their fine mannerr and the excellent leadership their coaches showed I strongly believe they can all go very far! The boys from Luton Town FC are all very welcome back to Valdemarsvik any time.
